Drew Prindle of Digital Trends (see my homepage for the link) just posted a short article on Google's plans to compile its already-gathered data into a nice, neat lil report it has for you. The report is based on your house. The stuff that's going on at your house. Well, at least the solar stuff. More specifically, your solar usage and what costs are flowing out of your home and how you could save money by installing solar panels, etc. The lawyer in me is cringing at the thought of Google tracking my every move. Isn't this some sort of constitutional violation? But at the same time, the tech-geek in me is thinking that this is pretty cool. A customized solar report might be kind of interesting.
Google initiated its solar project because its tracked thousands of solar Google searches every day. It decided to go ahead and move forward with a solar initiative based on these basic search inquiries.
Cool or creepy? It's your choice. Either way, Google is watching you in more ways than you could have ever dreamed.
