While surfing my personal social media on Insta this afternoon I encountered an interesting new company called Wink. I am big big BIG into health and fitness so I follow mostly fitness junkies and bodybuilders on Instagram. I love to see what kind of food they are eating. One new item that stood out on a bodybuilder's page was a frozen dessert called Wink. This is a no fat, no sugar, and no artificial ingredients ice cream-type-dessert that boasts about 100 calories in an entire pint. So what's this stuff made of? Wink's website lists lots of really intriguing ingredients such as 100% non-GMO Pea Protein Isolate, veggie glycerin, and Organic Agave Inulin. The CEO, Gabe, discovered that he had a dairy allergy and Celiac disease at the age of 17 and he could not tolerate eating ice cream, which he loved, thus Wink was born in his dorm room. The website is clever and the introduction of the company's employees/board flows nicely through four young, aspiring entreprenuers. The company is sustainable and pretty much gluten free, sugar free, and free of everything that we consider harmful these days. Oh, and one more added bonus: you can check them out on Shark Tank on 11/6/15. I will definitely be watching because I'd love to see where they are at with respect to intellectual property (patents? Trade secrets? Trademarks?). Check out the video about Wink and as always, connect with me through email or Twitter!
