Breaststroke or Butterfly: LED Tracks Your Progress

Another new piece of wearable tech--the Speedo Shine--will be available in September for you to track your fitness progress. This time, however, it tracks your swim distance and stroke style. There is another similar device that came out in 2013 but this one is of course improved and costs a little more (about $80). In addition to swimming, this LED bracelet
also tracks your standard movements such as walking, running, etc.

Do these Fitbit type devices really mean much to you? Do you utilize these to meet fitness goals or is it just cool tech. Will these devices be around much longer? Will they evolve and become more sophisticated or is the public done with them? Let me know your thoughts.
