Remember hearing about selfie sticks a few months ago? Well, technically those are old news, oldie. Those archaic poles are being replaced by a couple of new devices/techniques that take aerial photos to new levels. As shown here in the top portion of the photo, a Panono Camera, which is a ball that has a nice digital camera tucked inside, can be thrown into the air and then snap a photo at its highest point. It's about the size of a grapefruit and weighs about the same. The only issue with the Panono for most selfie-lovers is its cost: $1,499 will get you hours of fun and will store up to 600 pics. This price is a little high, even though it is brand-spanking-new tech.
The bottom photo is an aerial shot of the lovely and super cool photographer, Renee Lusano. Renee is a Los Angeles photog who travels the world with a drone and camera attached. She sends the drone up into the air and catches some glorious aerial shots of Hawaii, Italy, and other exotic and beautiful locales. Renee calls these shots "dronies" instead of selfies because they show her and her friends from a much more expansive angle than a regular ol' arm's length selfie. Follow Renee on Instagram, her page is pretty cool: @wrenee.
